So, what’s in the book? Short answer- a lot! DIY Mule Tape Tack is your complete guide to braiding mule tape tack. From beginners to seasoned halter makers, this book has a little bit of everything for everyone. Being a visual learner myself, I know how frustrating it can be to try something new based on written instructions alone. I kept this in mind throughout the entire guide.We start off by going through a sort of pre braid checklist of what you’ll need to get started, where to get it, and how to plan for sizing and how to dye your own mule tape. Then we get into the basics. This includes step by step photos and written instructions of every braid, knot, and technique you will get the chance to use throughout the tutorials.From here we get into the tutorials, and there are a lot! Five different types of halters (yes that’s types of halters and not sizes- but there is a size adjustment chart too,) two styles of lead ropes (which can be used as tutorials for split reins,) two sets of adjustable reins, three types of headstalls, breast collar, and so much more.My goal here is to make this an easy and accessible hobby for everyone who wants to dip their toes into braiding and because of that I want to offer an additional option for those who can’t afford this book.
